THE STUDIO

Philippe Cramer owes his freedom of expression to the establishment of his studio in 2001 in Geneva. Much like an artist-run space, he created an environment dedicated to showcasing his work, complementing traditional gallery programs. Conceived as a laboratory, Philippe’s studio is a place of experimentation where he freely develops creative ideas, utilizing both traditional crafts and noble materials, as well as exploring innovative processes and techniques. He strives to offer exceptional work, often marked by natural nuances that can only arise from handcrafting. From his studio, he produces unique artworks and limited editions, each meticulously crafted by exacting and passionate artisans selected for their commitment to his artistic vision and attention to detail.

Philippe believes that eliciting positive emotions necessitates public engagement. Therefore, his studio is open to visitors, as an invitation to experience and share their appreciation of his work.

Philippe has created awards for the United Nations Young Activists Summit and the Fondation Louis-Jeantet, and has completed projects for Swiss Consulates and Embassies in Geneva and Pretoria. His collaborations include work with Hermès Petit h, Dom Pérignon, Take 5 editions, and Georg Jensen. Additionally, he created pieces for Banque Pictet and Banque Piguet Galland, and Artgenève commissioned him to design the scenography for the ephemeral restaurant Night Fall.

Several prestigious institutions and galleries have showcased his work, including ArtCurial, Gallery S. Bensimon, and Not a Gallery in Paris; the Swiss Cultural Center, the Michelangelo Foundation, and Spazio Setmani in Milan; the Audi Foundation in Beirut; Gallery Farb in Gstaad; Ormond Editions in Zurich; Kiscelli Muzeum in Budapest; the Lapidarium of the National Museum in Prague; and the Fondation TEI in Tokyo. In-depth articles about Philippe have been published in numerous publications, including Wallpaper, Vogue, AD, L’Officiel, Metropolis, Le Monde, and the Chicago Tribune.
