AETERNUS ETERNUS: TOTEMIC I
Sculpture, 2024.
Through this sculpture, Philippe Cramer continues his investigation into the relationship between matter, time, and the public space.
The simple, continuous form of the piece, reminiscent of a DNA sequence and the Möbius strip, transcends the apparent simplicity of the gesture to anchor itself in a demanding technical mastery of stonework. The artist suggests that this ancient mass of rock, seemingly frozen for millennia, has been transformed by the influence of a supernatural force.
The work has been shown at ArtGenève, Maze/Gstaad and for the exhibition “L’Art en Heritage”, Banque Heritage, Geneva.
